cecelia ahern

A friend of mine recommends this writer to me a few years ago. Honestly, I wasn’t really into lovey-dovey story books but I’m glad I try her books. She is the popular Irish writer, Cecelia Ahern. Some of her books are;

· P/S I love you

· If you could see me now

Well I like her books because they make me cry and I knew they had this warm feeling of love after reading it. I even have to wear my spectacles to hide my red bulging eyes the next day! Cecelia write with such simplicity that it felt really close to reader (I feel close to the heroine) and reality is always her weapon, sprinkled with a little twisted fate.

So if you’re feeling numb and gave up on love (like I always feel 24 hours a day!) and had just swore to never fall in love again; I recommend you to stop at the nearest bookstore or library and search for Cecelia Ahern. She has the perfect potion to help you, trust me on this!

Lately I’ve fallen in a forbidden love, with Jodi Picoult! She is a tremendously great writer with a new fresh- dark-reality- detective genre! Some of her books are:

· Keeping Faith

· My sister’s keeper

· The Pact

· Perfect Match

· Change of heart

· Nineteen minutes

Nevertheless, I had to think twice before actually reaching for her books on the library shelf. One thing I knew for sure is her books had happy ending (as far as I’ve read) which is a big great relief but in order to reach there you have to go through hell; slowly and painfully! So be ready with your tissue boxes and lots of them!

Picoult bravely touch serious and sensitive issues which made people normally shiver at even the thought of it. She brings out the tough questions of God, love, family and friends relationship, child abuse and religious issue too. Nothing is too sensitive for her. She shows how evil the world could be, mixing reality with the wildest and darkest dreams. She love to tangle all the lawyers, attorneys, polices priests, doctors and absolutely adorable fragile children in a compact but also light reality-adventure.

In my opinion, the only one setback (for me; because of my own laziness so maybe not for you all) is there’s too many character with different personality which make me skip some of the pages and miss the vital point of the story! So in the end I still want to read her books but be ready for one hell of a bumpy-dark- dangerous-road which would definitely left you bleeding but with wide open eyes of things you normally would never glance at.

I didn’t really remember when I started having this obsess of reading novels. I only felt that when I read, it was so absorbing that I didn’t care anything else. I would skip my dinner, I didn’t do my homework, I didn’t play my new X-box 360 and I didn’t take a bath; if the writer is really good! It’s a little bit scary but it felt so good I can’t stop. Why does it sound like I’ve fallen in love?!!!

Well I didn’t remember the first novel I read but I would say it’s the legendary Nancy Drew, when I was around 13 years old. It’s a thrilling experience to read a hard cover detective-look-alike book at that age. Now at 23, I love funny-slice-of-life novels and classic ones… My biggest dream is to be able to read all classic novels in the world! I’ve reads Little Women, Jane Eyre, Robinson Crusoe, Secret Garden, Wuthering Heights, Daddy Long Leg and many more.

So I'm going to do what I love most! Reading and criticizes! You all can just read it as preview to books that i hope you all are going to read. i always love book club even though i have yet any experience with any!
